Stephan Bibrowski (1891–1932), better known as Lionel the Lion-Faced Man, was a famous sideshow performer. His whole body was covered with long hair that gave him the appearance of a lion; this was likely due to a rare condition called hypertrichosis.
lyrics
My mother saw the lion come
consume my father when I was
still in her womb
and that's why they say I was born this way
they call me the lion-faced man
furs around my arms and back and there's a
snout on my face and fangs grow in my mouth
I'll shake my manes for you
if you call me the lion-faced man
Come hear me roar
hear me roar
hear me roar
hear me roar
My mother saw the lion come
consume my father when I was
still in her womb
and that's why they say I was born this way
they call me the lion-faced man
